Accommodation (sleeps 4/6)

The accommodation at Lassere is a restored C19th farm building that has been recently converted to provide the best of modern facilities whilst preserving the charm and warmth of the original building. It has been largely rebuilt using traditional local materials, and you can still see some of the original ‘galet’ walls (large pebbles) and a great deal of exposed chestnut and oak timber

The Gite

The site is south facing so maximum sunshine for those that want it – and faces straight out onto an unbroken view of the Pyrenees. There is a terrace and garden to the front and a shade terrace to the rear – where you can eat and escape the heat of day and watch the sun go down in the evening.

We have a large barn with a designated parking area where you can keep your car in the shade.

The gite is light, open and airy with plenty of room for 4-6 people to chill out, spread out, splash out, pig out, wander about or even veg out!

The downstairs main room provides a large and cool open living space that combines kitchen, dining and living space. The room itself is very substantial measuring some 10m x 6.5m and is floored with terracotta tiles.

There are French doors that open out onto the terrace and the garden beyond. There is a dining table for 6 and settees for you to choose from, one of which is a double sofa bed.

We have provided a TV if you really need it - 'TV and DVD player'. – now with UK satellite TV (BBC digital channels, ITV, C4, C5)

There is a very large ‘Godin’ log burner that will bang out as much heat as you need through the winter months or on chillier evenings.

Both bedrooms are fully oak-beamed and have the unusual feature of their own separate staircase. Both look out onto the Pyrenees and the hills near by, so whichever room you wake up you are guaranteed a stunning view of the mountains (weather permitting of course!).

The double bedroom is timber framed and has a large ‘galet’ wall with a king size bed and tastefully furnished with traditional French textiles.

The twin bedroom also timber framed and has lots of room for either children or adults, again with traditional French fabrics.

The bathroom is an important feature of the property that we have devoted a lot of thought to. There are 3 different rooms so that one person doesn’t block all the facilities for everyone else. There is a separate toilet, a shower room and a bathroom (with a full sized bath and sink).

This area also houses a corridor for cloakroom storage and a washing machine.

It is possible to take a panoramic look inside of gite. Please follow this link. The panorama will be loaded on a new page. Beware that loading can take some time, even at broadband, because of the size of the file.

Outside, there is a garden, two terraces (1 sunny 1 shady), BBQ facilities and most important of all….

A 12m x 6m heated swimming pool that is south facing and overlooking the Pyrenees. Although we use this too from time to time, we can promise that with a pool of this size there’ll be plenty of room for everyone. We provide sun loungers and pool towels.

Outside, we have over 40 acres for you to wander around, including pastureland, woods, a small stream, a great bridge for Pooh sticks and plenty of trails for walking or cycling on. We also have 400 vines and you’re welcome to help us get the harvest in at the right time of year!

(pool open from May to end September subject to favourable weather conditions)
